amanda + ellis {love shoot}

A stranger said to them, “You two should dance because you guys look so cute together.”
And they did.
And they have been together since.
And it has been seven years.

A few days ago I met with Amanda and Ellis at the chic St. Anthony Main area for their engagement session. These two are so stylish, and fun to be around with. I had such a great time working with them! Lots of favorites, I am really having a hard time to decide which one to post, so I am going to post them all. Brace yourself for Amanda and Ellis’s awesomeness. They totally brought it.

I usually have a very strong idea when I process a photo, a particular feel that I want it to be, but with this session, I really can’t decide. I am leaning towards the black and white ones because they reminds me of the Calvin Klein ads — Amanda and Ellis, maybe you guys should consider modeling!! : )

So, color or black and white? What do you think?

jessica + josh

After their wedding (click HERE to see photos from their wedding), Jessica and Josh drove all the way up to the Twin Cities for a nice and relaxing honeymoon. What’s more, they graciously allowed me to spend an amazing afternoon with them!

Jessica put on her beautiful dress again, and we headed to Lake Nokomis for some photos.

The newlyweds were more relaxed this time around. Lots of laughters and smiles, it sure was a great session.

Jessica then changed into something more comfortable and we drove to Minnehaha Falls.

I asked, “Are you ticklish, Jessica?”
And she answered with hesitation, “Yes…”
I then nodded to Josh and said, “Go ahead, tickle her.” :)

This was fun. The initial idea was to have both Jessica and Josh make faces to each other but it ended up with Josh making the silly faces while Jessica giggling away. :)

Jessica and Josh — you guys are fabulous!! Thank you so much for allowing me to share a little slice of your newlywed life with you! I wish you nothing but the best.

jessica and josh {wedding day}

St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge, Iowa May 10, 2008

Jessica & Josh are a super sweet couple, and they were my first wedding in Iowa!! We have only been communicating via emails, so I’ve been more than delighted to finally meet them!

Getting ready pictures are always my favorite. Helena, the matron of honor was tearing up when Jessica first put on her dress. It was a touching moment.

Check out the dress and the shoes. I’ve got to say, these might be the most comfortable shoes ever. Good choice, Jessica!

They decided not to see each other before the wedding to keep the surprise element, so the bridal party portraits were done separately before the ceremony.

Some great shots from the ceremony.

This was taken right after the ceremony when the Mr. and Mrs. stole a little private moment together. I love the genuine happiness and relief.

The first dance was followed by father-daughter dance, and mother-son dance. The music was awesome! Jessica and Josh made sure every guest had a great time. I have never seen so many amazing dancers gathered on a dance floor. Make sure you check out the slideshow below — more cool dancers!
