It was my first time working with Kara, and it was my first time doing a fashion shoot in a laundromat, but it sure was exciting. We chose a Tuesday morning thinking that it would be less crowded in the laundromat but we were so wrong — people with loads of laundry kept coming in, more and more people gathered and watched us, and it was just a brand new experience for me. Kara was amazing in front of the camera. I hope you enjoy the photos, because I did!
I really like that this guy was in the shot. It is one of my favorite (well, all the photos in this post are my favorites to be honest).
The light from the window was just gorgeous.
How about stuffing your model in a dryer? (David : you did WHAT??!!!)
The idea seemed brilliant at that time but these shots got me in some trouble. The owner came yelling that we might have damaged the machine because of Kara’s weight, and demanded that we have to pay for all the damages — a whooping $10,000. Can you imagine the shock we were in?
I haven’t received any call from him regarding any damages so I can only hope for the best. Anyway, the risk was worth it. We got some fabulous images and oh well, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do I guess. ;p
Hey, Kara, thanks for doing everything that I asked, and performing so beautifully. Good luck in your modeling career!
warmly,
Ai Ling
